A Little About Us and How We Help

A1 Services was founded by A.J Eastley to enable companies in the Construction Sector to identify, build and realise the skills of their workforce. A1 services are HSE approved and registered with the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) and have a sound foundation in the industry with decades of experience. HSE believe that, as a Training Provider accredited to one of the six recognised bodies, an employer can select an organisation that can provide adequate and sufficient standards of training and assessment as required by UK legislation. Employers should satisfy themselves that the instructor has undergone appropriate training in instructional techniques and skills' assessments. Whilst employers may operate their own in-house training system they may find it useful to have the training delivered by an NPORS Accredited Training Provider or have their trainers accredited by NPORS.

What is NPORS?

The Health and Safety Executive recognise NPORS as competent to accredit and monitor organisations to train instructors and/or to train, test and certificate operators.
The main objective of NPORS is to allow NPORS Accredited Training Providers a flexible approach to meet the needs of the employer to help and assist in providing an adequately trained workforce within the UK.
The assessment criteria for an operator has been developed over many years by the NPORS Training Standards Committee and drawing on the capabilities of our Accredited Training Providers/Instructors, who provide practical and realistic advice as they deliver the assessments with clients and understand any training and assessment challenges that can arise.
The Operator Registration Card is produced for an individual who has successfully completed practical and knowledge assessments on the categories shown on the back of the card. This shows that they have achieved a level of competence to operate the item on the card. Where the individual has successfully attended a NPORS (or industry) recognised Health and Safety Course, this can also be added onto the back of the card.
Should you have any queries on NPORS or to validate an NPORS Operator Card you can call the NPORS helpdesk for help and advice on 01606 351240.
